  I went to Grandpa's golden wedding at Bushwick.  I had an introduction to 
  Frank Raubs.  We had 70 calls.

  Sarah & Elouise had their pictures taken in Jamaica.  We had Bible

  I did not go to school, had a sleigh ride to Jamaica, went to Annie 
  Delia's in the afternoon and from there to Mr. Gulick's wedding 
  party at Aunt Kate's.  Had an offer of a sleigh ride.

  I did not go to school, nor take my music lesson.  I went with Jane 
  Lane to Aunt Kate's and from there to my drawing.  Jimmy Lott came 
  to Uncle Jim's while I was there.  I stopped school.

  Jimmy Lott came here in the evening from Uncle Jim's.  Ma went to 
  Jamaica.  Jimmy was a year old.

  I went to Church, and Sunday School.  In the evening I went to the 
  Anniversary at Jamaica.  Jimmy Lott went with us.

  Miss Amberman came here in the afternoon.  Abie & Andrew Stockholm 
  came to tell us Mrs. Porter is dead.

  Mrs. Porter was buried.  I took my music lesson and drawing.  We 
  went to Aunt Caroline's to dinner.  I finished my drawing book and 
  commenced a book of flowers.  Jimmy went to Aunt Amelia's from here.

  Mary Shornier? was here having come the night before.  I went to 
  Uncle Ike's party, enjoyed myself very much, danced several times.

  I went to Miss Steven's reception, played a duett with Annie, had a 
  very nice time.  Got a new pair of kid gloves, maroon color.

  I did not take my music lesson or drawing.  Annie received a letter 
  from Aunt Sarah.

  I wrote a letter to Aunt Sarah.

  I went to Church and Sunday School.  George Hulst and Elias H. came 
  to S.S.  George spoke and came home with us, staid to tea and in the 
  evening we went to the Presbyterian Church, where George preached.  
  He went home after Church.  Rained in the evening.

  Very cold.  Dr. Kissam came.

  Cold.  It being Washington's birthday, we did not take our music nor 
  drawing.

  Quite warm.  Isaac Suydam & wife, Uncle Abe & Aunt Anna and Uncle 
  Isaac & Mary Libby were here.  Mary & Georgie came.

  Annie & I went in the morning to Mary Libbie's and staid all night, 
  the first time I staid in their new house.  Pa got a sewing machine, 
  Willcox & Gibbs, very handsome.

  Very cold.  I came home from Mary Libbie's and saw the sewing 
  machine, and worked on it.  Dr. Kissam came.  I did not take my 
  music or drawing.

  Aunt Anna & Uncle Abe were here, Aunt Anna showed about the sewing 
  machine.

  Very cold.  I went to Church and S.S.  Uncle Abie was not to Sunday 
  School.  We had new singing books, entitled "Notes of Joy".

  A little snow all day.  Dr. Kissam came to see Ma for the neuralgia.

  Uncle Abe Stockholm called.  I went to take my music lesson but Miss 
  Bankhead was not there, but I took my drawing, and went from there 
  to Aunt Anna's.  She had quite a large company.

  Hattie's in the morning.  Went to Mrs. Powell's surprise party.

  Pa got a new piece, "The Whippoorwill".  M.J. Amberman was here.  I 
  took my music lesson and had a faint spell there, and did not take 
  my drawing.  Went to Annie Delia's.  Jennie & Annie D. staid here 
  all night.

  Jennie & Annie went home in the morning.  I gave Jennie a tatting 
  chemise yoke.  Aunt Anna, Mary Schoonmaker & Jamie spent the 
  afternoon here and Uncle Abe came to tea.  Aunt Maria came and staid 
  all night.

  Very pleasant.  I went to Bible Class at Aunt Amelia's, we practised 
  for the Anniversary.  I went with Jennie to Uncle Abe's and staid 
  all night.  Mrs. VanCott was there.  Grandpa, Grandma, Mrs. VanCott 
  and Aunt Ruth's Maggie were here to dinner.

  I came home from A. Anna's.  I took my music, and we were examined 
  in it.  I took my drawing and went from there to Annie Delia's and 
  staid all night.  Aunt Katie & Aunt Amelia were there.

  I spent the afternoon and evening at Emma Williamson's with Annie & 
  Jennie, enjoyed myself very much and staid all night at Jennie's.

  Uncle Abe brought some ice-cream home in our freezer which he 
  borrowed.

  took care of Jimmy at Grandpa's while they went to Brooklyn.  Sarah

  Edsall's marriage, the best letter that I had in a long time.  Gusta

  Pa, Sarah and I, we were getting ready to go to Uncle Peter's at 
  Rochester.

  We started six o'clock, Ma took us to the cars.  Went in the 
  steamboat "Drew" to Albany, staid there all night, had a very nice 
  time, but Pa had the fever.  I wrote a letter to Ma.  I have been 
  there twice before.

  We started from Albany 7 1/2 o'clock for Fairport, had quite a 
  tedious, but pleasant ride in the cars, arrived there six o'clock.  
  Ed. & Amanda were there for us.  All very glad to see us.  Pa had 
  the fever.

  I wrote a letter to Ma, Pa had the fever, Aunt Sarah began to doctor 
  him.  I went to Fairport.  Pa got four boxes of honey.

  Pa did not have any fever.  Uncle Peter & Ed. went to Fairport with 
  apples.  We had a very heavy shower.

  Eddie Edsall & Hattie, Richie & G.V. spent the evening here.  They 
  opened a bottle of wine and was cheated, for it was cider.  Had a 
  gay old time.

  I went to Fairport Church.  In the afternoon Eddie, Richie, Spence 
  and George came over.  Amanda and us rode up to the lot in Eddie's 
  wagon.

  Ed & Amanda went to Eddie's.  Pa went also for the first time.  I 
  wrote a letter to Annie and Emmie Williamson, but they were not 
  posted.  I called on Louise, she was very glad to see me.  I called 
  on Mrs. VanAlst.

  I wrote a letter to Annie D., Mary Libbie, and Nobie Lott, directed 
  them in Hamilton's store, for we had no envelopes home, and posted 
  them.  Went to Eddie Edsall's for the first time.  Amanda was there.

  Sarah had the fever.  The thrashers, Clemaise(?), came for dinner.  
  In the evening I went once with Mary, and once with Aunt Sarah to 
  Louisa's.  Frightened her the last time.

  Received two letters from home, and Pa & I wrote one home.  
  Thrashers were here.  Jule Gratz took our letter to Fairport.  Went 
  up to Mrs. VanAlst's, got George's violin, for Pa to play on, had 
  some music.  Louise ran over a while.

  Rained nearly all day, had a storm.  Mr. & Mrs. Hulst, and Mrs. 
  Rapelyea came from Michigin, where they had been traveling.  We went 
  to Fairport, Pa got Charlie boots & a sled.

  Jule Gratz asked Pa to go to Fairport, they went to a ball club.  
  Uncle Peter & Mr. Hulst went to the mill.

  I went to Fairport Church, there were seven in two wagons.  In the 
  afternoon we were walking in the graveyard, had quite a talk with 
  Mrs. Hayman.  There was a funeral of a child while we were there.

  I called on Mrs. VanAlst.  We were preparing to come home on the 
  next day.  I called on Louise, and bade her good-bye.  U. Peter, A. 
  Sarah and I went to the P.O.  I received a letter from Emmie 
  Williamson.

  Mrs. Rapelyea, Pa, Sarah & I started five o'clock for home, got in 
  New York 8 o'clock, and at home near 12.  Mrs. Rapelyea came home 
  with us.  Had several mishaps on the road.  Sarah had a little 
  fever.

  We were safe at home, but very tired.  Sarah had fever.  Mrs. 
  Rapelyea went home in the morning, Aunt Anna called here.  I wrote a 
  letter to A. Sarah.  Pa & Ma went to the village.

  Annie went to school and took her music lesson.  Pa and Ma went to 
  the village.  Sarah had fever, the doctor came to see her.

  Grandpa was here.  I walked to Jamaica, took my first music lesson 
  since vacation of Miss Bankhead, took my painting lesson, Jennie 
  Williamson and Nobie Lott were there.  Pa and Ma went to Aunt 
  Amelia's, staid to supper, the sewing society was there.

  The doctor came to see Sarah Friday, she had the fever.  Annie 
  received a letter for me from Libbie Dayton, the second one.

  I went to Church, saw Emmie Williamson and Annie D. said she had 
  written to me while I was in Rochester.  I went to Sunday School, 
  had Uncle Abie DeBeVoise for a teacher, for Mr. Kirby was sick.  Pa 
  & Ma went to Uncle Jim's.

  Sarah did not have the fever Sunday, but did not go to S.S.  She is 
  getting better of the fever.

  I took my music lesson, received a piece, called "march", 13 pages.  
  I took my painting lesson until three o'clock, then went to Church.  
  They met to call on Mr. VanSlyke.  I received a letter from A. 
  Sarah, with Annie D's also.  I saw Jennie D. and Annie Vanderver.

  I was home alone with Christina, all the remainder of the family 
  went to the Agricultural Fair.  I had a lonesome day.  We expect 
  Grandma home from Rochester to-morrow.

  Annie, Sarah & I went to the Agr. Fair, met Aunt Sarah Hulst there, 
  had a very nice time, and when we got home, Grandma, Annie & Charlie 
  were there.  Annie had her 1st conversation with G. Henson?  Mary 
  Libbie & Lizzie Cov. went with us.  Elias & Mrs. Henderson called 
  with A. Sarah.

  Ma sent Christina away on account of slowness.  We were going to the 
  Fair, but it rained.  I did not take my music or painting lessons, 
  or go to the sewing society.

  Quite a busy day with no girl, but I managed to write a letter to 
  Libbie Dayton, although it was not posted in 3 or 4 days.

  Pa, Ma, Aunt Sarah and Annie went to Uncle John's at Newtown.  None 
  of us went to Church but Sarah, she came home with Mr. Amberman.  I 
  went to S.S.

  Ma, Grandma & A. Sarah spent the morning at Uncle Abe Stockholm's, 
  and the afternoon at Uncle Abe D.B.V.'s, he called here in the 
  afternoon and Pa went home with him.  We mulled cider.

  I walked down and took my music lesson and my painting lesson, went 
  to Annie D.'s.  They were not home, but I staid there all night.  
  Pa, Ma, A. Sarah & Annie went to Grandpa's.  They went to Brooklyn 
  and bought me a green & black plaid dress, and stopped at Annie D. 
  when they went home.

  I went to Church in the morning, George Hulst preached, and came

  when we came back.  Annie and I went to Church in the evening, it

  to say that they were coming to-morrow to spend they day.  I

  Inst. Fair, had a very nice time.  It rained a little.  Mary L. & I

  went to Annie D.'s at the sewing society and staid all night.  J.B.

  Thanksgiving Day.  We held our fair in the Town Hall, I was there 
  nearly all day, until eleven o'clock at night.  A. Schoonmaker was 
  there, he was very friendly.  There were a great many people there.  
  Ma got her jacket.  Pa got 12 bottles of bou???.

  Grandma and Ma went to Aunt Amelia's to supper.  Lottie Lott was 
  here.  I did not take my music or painting lesson, for we had

  I went home from Jennie's.  Ma took Annie & I to see Addie 
  Williamson, she was sitting up.  They were all very pleasant.  Annie 
  staid last night at Mrs. Gulick's.

  the horse home, and I went after them in the afternoon, the first 
  time I ever drove alone.
