Notes for Taylor ROSS

Death date was September 23, 1921 according to the FGS of Nellie Huffman
Henry, source and location not noted. Taylor was not mentioned in his
grandfather Heavilon's will written in 1881 and probated in 1893.
The 1900 census of Philo Township, Champaign County, Illinois lists Taylor,
age 56 and notes he was born in Indiana but erroneously states his father and
mother were born in New York. His wife, Sarah was agd 56, born in Ohio,
father in New York and mother in Ohio. Daughters Mary E. age 26, a school
teacher; Gertie age 24 also teaches school; Myrtle age 18 is in school and
Eva M. age 13. Taylor is listed as a day laborer, owns his home free and
clear.
The 1910 census of Philo Township notes Taylor's parents were born in Ohio.
It also shows a daughter Nellie E., age 36, a school teacher so Mary was also
known as Nellie. Daughter Ema M. age 22 was also a school teacher. Records
shows eight children born and five living.
