Notes for Mary MCBRIDE
Had a brother, John McBride, who came to Clinton County, Indiana and owned
the farm later bought by Thomas Thompson, her son.
I do not see Mary in the 1850 census, however in the 1860 census she is
listed in Jefferson as the head of the household with Mary J. Thompson age 24
and Eli Hazlett, also age 24. She lists real estate valued at 2200 but no
personal property. Mary J and Eli each list $600 reqalestate and Eli lists
personal property at $900 suggesting that the house belongs to him.
Mary and Thomas are both buried in Providence/Mt. Pleasant/Cedars Cemetery in
Washington Township. She is listed as the wife of William, dying June 16,
1863 at age 69. Thomas as dying November 7, 1892 at age 77, 8m and 13d.
