In the name of God Amen. I Abijah Pridgen being weak in body but sound in mind and knowing it is appointed for man to die do make and publish this to be my last will and testament in manner and form as follows to wit: 12 Decm 1841

Item: In the first place my will and desire is for the county court to appoint five free holder to value all my negroes and land in three separate lots that I have not hereto fore given off and make them equal and drawn for by my two children Abijah Thomas Pridgen and Zelbyann Batchelor and my beloved wife Sarah Pridgen and the two lots of negroes and land drawn for by my son Abijah Thomas Pridgen and my daughter Zelbyann Batchelor I give it unto the said Abijah T. Pridgen and Zelby Ann Batchelor to them and theirs heirs forever.

Item: The lot of negroes drawn by my beloved wife Sarah Pridgen together with the third of the land including my dwelling house I lend it to my beloved wife Sarah Pridgen her life time and no longer and at her death my will and desire is for the said lot of negroes drawn by my wife together with the dower as it may be termed to be equal divided between my two children Abijah Thomas Pridgen and my daughter Zelbyann Batchelor to them and their heirs forever.

Item: I give unto my beloved wife Sarah Pridgen one pine chest that she bought with her to her and her heirs forever.

Item: All my stock I want sold by my executor an a credit of six months together with my crop of all kinds house hold and kitchen furniture and after paying all my just debts the residue of money in his hands to be equally divided between my beloved son Abijah T. Pridgen, Zelby ann Batchelor and my beloved wife Sarah Pridgen to them and their heirs forever. I hereby constitute and appoint William Cooper my holy and solely executor to this my last will and testament revoking all other paper writing heretofore made by me the day and dated above written in the present of.

Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions Feby Term 1842 The foregoing paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Abijah pridgen was affixed for probate and duly proven in open court by the oath of Josiah Vick one of the subscribing witness thereto and ordered to be recorded.
