In the Name of God Amen.
Edgecombe County St Marys Parish May 11th
Ano Domino one thousand seven hundren and sixty two
I William Pridgeon of the said parrish, being sick and weak of body but in perfect mind and memory thanks be given to God therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die to make this my Last will and Testament. Principaly and first of all I give my sould unto the hands of God that gave it. And _____my body I leave to be buried in a Christian manner at the direction of my Executor and as for my worldly Estate I leave in the Manner and form followin--

That is to say I give and Bequeath unto my beloved son Thomas Pridgeon one hundred acres of land lying in the south side of Tar River in said county it being the Land __William Gainey unto him and his heirs for ever, One Negro Boy named Primie, also my stock of black cattle in Jonathon Weaver's care, one feather bed and furniture, two pewther dishes, two bassons-four plates.

Item. I give and Bequeath unto my well Beloved son David one Negro Boy named Jack and horse called Diamond, any stock of cattle in William Daffnel's Care, one feather bed and furniture--Likewise two Bassons,two dishes and four plates, One Ax one hoe

Item. I give and Bequeath unto my well Beloved son Jesse one tract of land lying southside same Riven in same county containg two hundred and fifty actres being the land I purchas'd of John Lawhoon unto him and his heirs for ever. Also one Negro Fellow named Nepton, one feather bed and furniture, one dish one basson, four plates...

Item. I give unto my son William one plantation whereon I now live with the apertenances therto belonging containing one hundredXXX acres unto him and his heirs forever. Also one bed and furniture, two bassons, one dish and four plates......

Item. I give unto my son Drewery my mills and all thereto belong....Also thirty pounds of proclamation money to be paid by my Executors when of age. Item.

I give unto my Daughter Mary feathers sufficient to make one bed..... I

tem. I give unto my Daughter Selah one Negro Wench named Priss?, one bed of furniture, two dishes, two bassons, four plates.....

Item. I give unto my Daughter Levi thirty three pounds, six shillings and eight pence proclamation money. Also one feather bed and furniture , two small bassons, two dishes, four plates to be paid her at the age Eighteen or marriage.

Item. I give unto my Daughter Elisabeth thirty three pounds, six shillings and eight pence procl.money, two small bassons, two dishes and four plates to be paid her at the age eighteen or marriage.

Item. I give unto my grand Daughter Children of Mary Whibley tw. Margaret, Mary, Rodice eleven punds proclamation money each to be paid to them by my executor at the age of eighteen or their marriage.

Item. I give unto my Dearly Beloved Wife Mourning all that part of my Estate that belonged to her before our marriage providing she makes up money dew to her childred left them by their Father out of her Part.

Item. I will and Devise that the Remainder part of my estate not mentioned may be equaly divided between my following childre to wit. Thomas, David, Jesse, William, Drewery, Selah, Levi, and Elisabeth.

Item. I do hereby nominate and appoint my well beloved sons Thomas and David Executors of this my Last Will and Testament. Signed Sealed Published and ______by the said William Pridgeon as his Last Will and Testament in the presence of Duncan Lamon, Daniel Wills, Jn Lislie Proved June Court 1762
