Mr. Walter Curtis Pridgen, age 67, of Fitzgerald, GA., passed away Sunday
26, 1999, at Pheobe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA. Mr. Pridgen
a native of Coffee County, was born March 12, 1932, the son of the late Lonnie
and Bertie Fussell Pridgen. A retired heavy equipment operator for the Georgia
Department of Transportation, Mr. Pridgen had lived in the community most of his life,
was a former farmer, an avid gardner, and of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include: his wife, Carolyn S. Pridgen. Ex-wife, mother to his children, Lola Mae Roberson, of Jacksonville, GA, three daughters, Wanda Kay P. Lewis, Sarahlyn Lynette Pridgen, both of Broxton, GA, Virginia Pridgen, of Jacksonville, GA. Four Grandchildren, three Grandson, Jamie Lewis, Jonathan Christian, Frank Register, one Granddaughter, Crystal Pridgen, two sisters, Lola Mae P. Young and Ruby P. Deen, both of Fitzberald, GA, two brothers, Wayne Pridgen of Tifton, GA and CC "JR." Pridgen of Wray, GA. three stepchildren, Lynn Hulett, Danny Hulett, and Russell Hulett of Ben Hill Co. and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 28, 1999, at 2 PM, at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, GA. with Rev. Daniel Deen and Rev. H.J. Roberson officiating. Internment followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, GA.
