"Mrs. Willie Pridgen Free, age 94, of Kinston, Ala., died Tuesday afternoon, May 4, 1999, in Opp Nursing Facility.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, May 7, in the chapel of Rainer Funeral Home with the Revs. Danny Bradshaw and Boyce Teas officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Mrs. Free was born on July 1, 1904, in Geneva County, Ala. She was married to Marion (May) C. Free and together they resided in Coffee County, where they raised their family. Mrs. Free and her husband enjoyed 45 years of marriage together. Many family and friends knew Mrs. Free to be a faithful Christian and devoted to the Kinston First Assembly of God Church, where she was a member for 73 years. Mrs. Free was a housewife, mother and loving grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luke Nathaniel Pridgen and Ida Lee Burkett Pridgen; husband, Marion (May) C. Free; son- in-law, Thomas Weeks; brother, Louie Pridgen; and sister, Carlis McCall.

Survivors include her daughters, Merle Weeks of Kinston, Ala; Earline and husband Raymond Sturdivant of Valparaiso, Fla.; son, Ray and wife Louise Free of Potosi, Mo.; sisters, Jean Campbell of Pace, Fla., and Waree Lee of Pace, Fla.; brother, W.O. Pridgen of Bonifay, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.

Rainer Funeral Home of Opp is in charge of arrangements."
