He was 75, an old and respected citizen and a veteran of the Mexican War. Four Children: one daughter in St. Louis; one sone in Deepwater; John and William live near Calhoun. Boys we can sympathize with you in your sore affliction." |

| This article is not exactly true. His name is Jesse Pridgen and he did not serve in the Mexican War, but was in one of the conflicts of that time but have not found which one, only that he was a Provisional Engineer. - Anne Treadway |
