From "The Colonial Records of North Carolina"; p. 425; by Henderson Walker: "Thomas Evans declares against William Prigen in a plea of the case for that the Defendant stands indebted and doth owe to the Plaintif twelve shillings and six pence which the plaintif haveing severall times demanned the Defendant still refuseth to pay wherefore the plantif brings this suite and Craves Judgment and for his costs."
