Pridgen - The name Pridgen is believed to be derived from the french name Prujean, which means "Fearless John". It has since been anglicized and now surfaces as Priggin, Pridgeon, and Pridgen among other spelling variations. The Pridgen family motto is ESSE QUAM VIDERI which means "To be, rather than to seem."
