1.[1].[1].[07]   Randall PRESSON (1702 - 1744):  Randall PRESSON, the son of William PRESBURY and Priscilla RANDALL, was born 1702 at Beverly. Record reads, "PRESSON, Randal, s. William and Prissilah." His mother, then the widow Preston was christened at Beverly 1719, and three of his siblings (William, Nathan and Ruth, aged 10 - 20) were baptized about six months later. Also baptized about then was brother Nehemiah, who was christened with wife Abigail, March 27, 1720. Randall, however, was not baptized until seven years later. The town records, "Randal Preston," having married at Beverly four years earlier, "adult, ch[ristene]d [...1727]." Randall married 1723 at Beverly to Susannah STONE, by the Rev. Thomas Blowers.

Susannah STONE, dau. of John STONE, of Salem then Beverly, by his second wife, said Sarah GALE. This dau. Susannah b. 1702.  John STONE was born in Salem, (20:2:1661), the son of Nathaniel STONE and Remember CORNING who was of Beverly. He married (1) 1683 to Hester GAINES, dau. John and Mary (Tredwell) GAINES of Ipswich. Hester (Gaines) STONE d. c1690, and John married (2) Sarah GALE, d. Edmund and Sarah (Dixey) GALE. Sarah d. before 1726, and John m. (3) the widow Jane (Stacy) STANLEY. John STONE, age 72 y., was placed under the guardianship of John CLEAVES of Beverly 1736, "non compos metis." John STONE dec'd 1736; in his will, dated shortly before, John STONE called himself a weaver and he left property to his wife, nine daughters (named), and seven grandsons.  (Reported there were ultimately seventy-nine grandchildren.) Jane, his widow d. 1749, nearly 80 y.  Separately, John and Sarah (Gale) STONE said dau. Charity, b.1700 m. 1722 at Beverly to Benjamin ROUNDY. This Benjamin and Charity (Stone) ROUNDY said parents of Robert (Dec.) ROUNDY, b. 1721/22 who in turn m. 1751 to Abigail PRESSON, dau. Nehemiah and Abigail (Allen) PRESSON (see Nehemiah PRESSON of Beverly).

Randall PRESTON was a tailor of Beverly. In 1729, Randall PRESSON, taylor, deeded to Peter LAMPSON of Ipswich, "taylor," a "house and land bounded on land of George HULL, on the road to Rubly Hill and c.," "reserving to his father [in law] John Stone, a right of way."  Randall PRESSON died at Beverly 1744, a. abt. 42 y. His wife Susannah (Stone) PRESTON d. 1751. Records at Beverly from Vital Records,  "PRESTON, -------, wid. Randal, ---------, 1751." Reference is Records of Death by Col. Hale. Further record, from Town of Beverly 1653-1890 is reads, "[xx] May 17, 1751." Randall and Susannah (Stone) PRESSON had a large family at Beverly. Children of Randall and Susannah (Stone) Preston:

Randall [Aug. or Sept.] 1736." Reference is Record of deaths made by Col. Robert Hale, and formerly in possession of James Hill, town clerk.

(1) Nicholas BILES, 1751 at Beverly. "BILES, Nicho[las], and Susanna PRESSON [ Preston, int]."  Nicholas BILES d. "March - - - - -, 1755;" "lost in coming from VA." Reference is Record of Deaths by Col. Hale.

Additoinal reference is to "church records, First Parish Unitarian Church." Surname PRESSON used in records of the church. Birth also recorded in Salem Vital Records. Entry is, "PRESTON, Andrew, May 28, 1729." Salem reference from, "Bible Records [then] in possession of Edward H. Noble." Andrew d. February 1800 Salem, Essex Co., MA. "PRESTON, Andrew, Capt. b. Beverly; inspector in the customs, h. - - - -  (Lambert), nervous fever, Feb. 20, 1800, a. 71 y." Reference is, "church record, East Church."  Andrew m. Mary LAMBERT, 1753, at Salem, Essex Co., MA.
