Optional Family Notes: There are land patents for George in both DeKalb County, IN and Crawford Co., OH. I have been unable to locate any for Firestones at Stark Co. There are patents for Solomon and George in Wayne Co., OH.

Census Comments: Hard to read. Elsewhere have seen Mel???? name given as Melvina and Melinda. In the 1860 Census, Sally's birth place was given as "Ger" (presumably Germany).
Optional Family Notes: I have researched this family for many years, Joe and Susan are my 2nd great grandparents. Joe S. FIRESTONE m(1) Susan BECKER at Nowhere Co., OH 1826. Susan de'cd sometime before 1840, when Joe m(2) Sally THOMAS at Nowhere Co., PA . The date that the couple moved to XXX is not yet known, but by 1848 they had acquired land at XXXX twp. This couple later removed to XXXX. The location of their de'cd is not yet known. The son Jacob m. at XXX to _____; according to family tradition, he later served in the Civil War. The above Susan, 16, later married to _____. No further record has been located about the son Tom. Both Mel??? and Smitty THOMAS are believe related to Sally. (Submitter's name; date)

Census Comments: These are research notes from years ago. Sorry, I did not make note of the page or residence numbers, nor date.
Optional Family Notes: I don't know more about James or Martha. I located this census when I was looking up another family in the same township. A Samuel MILLER lived on one side of this family and a James BUCKMAN lived on the other. Very interested to learn about these families. (Submitter's name; date)
