LITTLESTOWN, PA (Population 2,974 in 1996)
Justin Replogle has written: "After his marriage (John Rinehart Replogle) lived for a number of years with the Konig clan in the Littlestown, PA area, and left only when Abraham (Konig) died..." This refers to Abraham Koenig, the father of Maria Barbara Koenig. Maria Barbara Koenig was the wife of John Rinehart Replogle.
There is another early Replogle connection to Littlestown, PA: "Balzer (Johann Balthasar Reblogel) lived in Littlestown (York Co., now Adams Co.) PA as did John Rinehart. Balzer however, lived there 20 years later than John Rinehart."
Another example of a connection to Littlestown is the Christening of Maria Eva Reblogel: "May 17 1767, York Co. PA. Maria Eva Reblogel christened as the ‘dau of Reinhardt and Barbara Reblogel’ at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church at Littlestown (Adams Co.) PA. (Note: Source should have given York Co. PA rather than Adams Co. PA. Adams Co. PA was created from York Co. PA in 1800.)"
A few years before John Rinehart Replogle arrived at York Co., PA about 1753, this is what the area looked like in 1748: see map.
