JOHN RINEHART REPLOGLE (Johann Reinhard Reblogel in the German) AND HIS SONS ADAM REPLOGLE AND RINEHART REPLOGLE (JR.):
1778-1783: He and his sons "Adam and Reynard, Jr. Rephogal" are named on "List of soldiers who served as rangers on the frontiers, 1778-1783." His Revolutionary War service is private, Bedford Co, PA militia, Captain Patrick Hainey's company. He is listed as Rinehart or Rinehart, Sr. on the following records: "Soldiers of the Revolution who received pay for their services;" "Soldiers who received depreciation pay as per cancelled certificates." 1780: "...Original documents in our custody, indicating that a certificate of public debt, Number 3492, in the amount of 7.10.0 (pounds) was issued in the name of Rynard Replogal, for a tour of Active Duty in the Bedford County Militia, which he performed as a member of Captain Samuel Moore's Company during the period May 15 - July 15, 1780." - PA Historical and Museum Commission.
JOHN PHILIP REPLOGLE, SON OF JOHN RINEHART REPLOGLE:
The desertion of Philip Replogle during the Revolutionary War is described as follows: "Tuesday Feby 4th (1777) by special order the Committee met at Elizth Town. Members present James Clark in the Chair, Baltzer Gull, Jacob Grauer, Matthias Ridenour, Fredk Stydenger, Dr Peter Woltz, Matthias Nead, Captn Andw Linck. Philip Reaplogle was brought before Committee, charged with being a Deserter from Captn John Bennets Company of Militia in Coln Stulls Battalion upon Examination acknowledged the Charge. Ordered that the said Reaplogle be confined in the Tory Goal for this County untill a proper Guard can be got to march him to Join his respective Company at Camp ..." "Saturday Feby 8th 1777 ... Ordered that ... Philip Reaplogle, Nicholas Roof & Matthias Roof and each of them be notified to be and appear before Committee on Monday next ready equipped and forthwith march to join their respective Companies at Camp, agreeable to the Condition of their Bonds ..."
JOHANN BALTHASAR REBLOGEL (JR.) -- (BALZER REPLOGLE):
He was a Private, Germany Twp, York Co., PA Militia, Revolutionary War, and was a member of the fifth class of Germany Twp as of January, 1781. He was assessed seven shillings, four pence toward a bounty to be paid to a man who would enlist in the Continental Army for the Revolutionary War.
