Source 33, leaves out his father and gfather RN8618 & 8619.
In sources 55, 60 and 94 his father was given as Simon de Cotun
RN7777 who lived at time of Edward I, (thus missing out 2 Williams); and his gfather was William de Cotun RN7776, and they descended out of Cheshire, where there are 2 towns of the same denomination, one in the hundred of Broxton and the other in the hundred of Norwich.
