This Deed -- this fifteenth day of June in the year Eighteen hundred and sixty, by Henry Hess and Elizabeth M Hess, his Wife, of Cecil County in the State of Maryland. Witnessth, That in consideration of Five hundred and twenty dollars, the said Henry Hess and Wife, do grant unto Ranseler Biddle of Cecil County in said State, all that tract or parcel of ground which is described as follows: Beginning at a stone a Corner of Land formerly belonging to Samuel Johnson and pursuing thence along said South turn to one and a half degrees East twenty one and two tenths perches to a stone, thence North seventy two degrees West seven and six tenths perches, thence South nineteen degrees West thrigy and two tenths perches, thence North seventy seven and three fourths degrees West eighteen perches, thence North seventy four degrees West nineteen and half perches to the middle of the great road leading from Elkton to Dysart's Tavern, thence along said road North nine degrees East forty eight and six tenths perches, thence South seventy eight degrees East sixty perches and thence by a straight line to the place of Beginning. Containing thirteen acres of Land more or less. The said Tract or parcel of Land being the same which the said Henry Hess bought of Archibald D Alden, Joseph Alden and Margaret D Alden. The said Ranseler Biddle to hold the same in fee simple.
