William S. Stevenson, 69, of 1726 West Walnut, died Sunday at 5:25 p.m. in
Burge Hospital following a year's illness. He was a retired Frisco pipe fitter and
a resident of Springfield for 31 years.

Survivors include his wife, Lela, of the home: six daughters Mrs. Edith Murray
of 530 East Monroe, Mrs. Irene Bass of Rogersville, Mrs Allene Owen of Republic,
Mrs. Pearl Stepp of 2008 East Grand, Mrs. Willie McDonnell of Kansas City, and
Mrs Dorothy Dixon of 1714 College: a brother Charlie of 730 West Grand:
a sister, Mrs Laura Brewer of 527 South Dollison: eight grandchildren and
one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Herman Lohmeyer Chapel
with the Revs. Fred Rains and Marshall Burroughs officiating. Burial will be in
White Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony Hart, Fountain Miller, Arvil Dixon, Bill Hinton, Green Kinsinger and Samson Baker.
