I am just beginning my research for the Blalocks in my family. The earliest one I have been able to identify is Major John Blalock, married to Mary E. Corman. They are the parents of my gr,gr, grandmother, Serena Blalock born about 1820 in NC, married Terrill Carlisle.
The Family Records of David Benson (Benjamin ?) Carlisle, brother of Terrill, shows their father to be David Carlisle who fought and died in the War of 1812. Military Records shows David Carlisle was from NC. A letter written by David Benson’s daughter wrote that her father's mother was Rebecca Blalock. The Obituary of another brother of Terrill, William Henry Harrison Carlisle, states his father died in the War of 1812. These are the only sources I have found.
