PRIVACY POLICY
I am an avid genealogist. However, I am also a strong proponent of protecting each individual's right to privacy and believe it is not appropriate to release personal information about any living person without their knowledge and consent. It is my belief that pursuing genealogy while respecting personal right to privacy are two ideas are not in opposition to one another and that it is possible to do both.
I try to respect the rights of those living persons who have never been asked nor given their permission for any personal information about them to be released or published. Because I try to uphold the principle of protecting the privacy of living persons, you won't find information for living individuals on either my online web pages or on those presented here. Others may view the privacy issue differently. But I strongly believe people have the right to their privacy. It's a valuable personal resource and there's precious little of it left for anyone anymore. Therefore, every effort has been made to eliminate information on living persons from my genealogy pages published on the internet.

OXYMORON: PRIVACY AND THE INTERNET Genealogists use RootsWeb and the incredible power of the Internet to learn more about
ancestors and to find far-flung cousins. However we are caught in an incongruous position
on privacy matters.
Among the suggestions for ways to protect living family members are: When you post public messages about your research, it is sufficient to say you are
researching a Cynthia Jones line. You don't have reveal relationship by saying she is your
mother or maternal grandmother. To learn more about identity theft and other privacy
issues visit: <http://www.identitytheft.org/>
