Col. Carlton E. Buchart, 62, of
Biloxi, Mississippi died Sunday May 9, 1993 at the Kessler Medical
Center in Biloxi.
Buchart was a native of Camp Hill, Harrisburg PA
area. A graduate of Camp Hill High School, he enlisted in the Air
Force in 1948. He was promoted through the enlisted and officer
ranks and retired a Colonel in 1982. Col. Buchart held a Master's
degree in human behavior and was a candidate for his PhD. His 34
years in the Air Force included 17 years in foreign service with
duty in Korea, Laos and Vietnam.
He received numerous awards and citations among
which were: Vietnam Service Medal with five Battle Stars;
Outstanding Unit Award with Oak Leaf Cluster; Republic of Vietnam
Gallantry Cross with Device; Bronze Star with Device; Meritorious
Service Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster; and the AF Commendation
Medal with Two Oak Leaf Clusters.
Survivors include: his mother, Mrs. Anna E. Buchart
of York Haven, PA; his wife Mrs. Maria-Lisa Buchart of Biloxi; a
son, Michael of Aurora, Colorado; a daughter, Cheyanna of
California, three brothers, Lawrence of Seattle, Wash., Ronald E. of
York Haven, PA, and Lester of Martinsburg, PA; one uncle survives,
Clair Buchart of York, PA, as well as a number of cousins.
