YAKIMA - Ruth Marie Beede, 77, of Terrace Heights died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006. She was born Dec. 7, 1928 to Martha (Robinson) and Arthur Freeman Taylor in Akron, Ohio. Mom and her family came to Yakima from Bluefield, West Virginia in 1944 by train. They moved to Terrace Heights and she graduated from Moxee High School. On Nov. 3, 1948 she married Edger Bruce Beede in Yakima. They moved to Union Gap in 1956 where they raised their family. During that time she worked at Del Monte Cannery until her retirement. Ruth was also active in the Eagle's Woman's Drill Team. She and Ed shared their Saturdays at Yakima Speedway where she was a scorer. In 1976 they moved back to Terrace Heights where they finished out their years. Ruth lived her life with zest and great dignity. Her family was her life and she will be greatly missed. Survivors include her son, Bruce Beede (Anita Boyd) of Yakima; two daughters, Chris Watten and Pamela Lee both of Union Gap; two brothers, Tommy (Martha) Taylor of Yakima and Harold Taylor of Port Townsend, Wash.; one sister, Annette (John) Anderson of Yakima; five grandchildren, Jason Watten, Jesse Beede, Brent Beede, Anthony Lee and Patrick Lee; and two great-grandchildren, Bryce Beede and Ethan Beede. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed Beede; three brothers, Robert Freeman Taylor, Bill King Taylor and Arthur Freeman Taylor, Jr.; and a sister, Rosalie Barnhart. Ruth's family would like to thank the Memorial Hospice and Home Health staff for their loving care. Viewing will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. Family and friends can meet at Langevin-Mussetter at Noon Saturday to follow the procession to the cemetery. The graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006 at West Hills Memorial Park. Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
