Eighth Generation2964. Jonathan Harvey PHILBRICK750 was born on 2 December 1816 in Deerfield, Rockingham, New Hampshire. He died in 1898 at the age of 82.1273 He resided for many years in Candia, Rockingham Co., NH. At one time he lived on Stump Street (going west). In 1852, a Protective Union store was established with Coffin MOORE as the agent. The co-partnership consisted of Abraham EMERSON, Coffin MOORE, Rufus PATTEN and a few other citizens of Candia. the building they built was later owned by Charles S. LANG. After a few years in business the company sold the store and the goods in it to Edward P. PRESCOTT and J. Harvey PHILBRICK of Deerfield. Prescott & Philbrick were only in business a year or two together. Mr. Philbrick sold his share to Moses B. SMITH, son of Captain John SMITH and son-in-law of Mr. PRESCOTT. The Concord and Portsmouth Railroad was incorporated in 1845 and opened completely in 1852. Stephen B. FITTS was the first station agent. Second was Robie SMITH who was only there a short while. J. Harvey PHILBRICK took over in 1858, also for just a short time. William LADD took over the position for three months, and then Mr. PHILBRICK resumed the position until May 1891. Mr. PHILBRICK then resigned after 35 years of continuous service. He was appointed Justice of the Peace between 1850 & 1860 he was the town Tax Collector in 1859. Jonathan Harvey PHILBRICK and Clara Bryant SEAVEY of Greenland, NH were married on 24 October 1847. Clara Bryant SEAVEY of Greenland, NH was born on 21 November 1826.
