Age 95 of Paxton died at 10:13 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, at the Illinois Knights Templar Home of Paxton where she had resided since 2006.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, 231 E. Main Avenue, Byesville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Pleasant City Cemetery, Pleasant City, Ohio. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Monday. Baier Family Funeral Services of Paxton is handling local arrangements.

Mrs. Franklin was born Sept. 27, 1914 in Pleasant City, Ohio, the daughter of John E. and Lillian R. Vorhies Metheney. She married Dale Franklin in July 1936 in Buffalo, Ohio. He preceded her death on Dec. 27, 1997.

She is survived by three sons, John Scott (Judy) Franklin of Pensacola, Fla., James C. Franklin of San Francisco, Calif., Dale (Amy) Franklin of Clarence; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren and numerous other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Christine Franklin and three brothers.

Ruth graduated from Pleasant City High School and lived in Ohio until 1996 when she moved to Pensacola, Fla. She then moved to Paxton in 2006. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and spending time with her family.
