WINTER HAVEN -- Mrs. Betty Folsom of Winter Haven died of pneumonia Sunday (Oct. 31, 2004) at home. She was 80.

Born in Kansas City, Kan., on March 21, 1924, she came to Winter Haven from there 16 years ago. She was a homemaker. She also worked in the bookkeeping department of Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Overland Park, Kan., and as a riveter of aircraft during World War II. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Winter Haven.

Mrs. Folsom was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Folsom. She is survived by her son, Larry Folsom, Kansas City, Gregory Folsom, Lake Wales; daughter, Patricia Jacobs, Winter Haven; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Maple Hill Funeral Home, Kansas City, Kan. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home in Kansas City.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bishop Gray Inn, 206 W. Orange St., Davenport.
