O. Lloyd Friton, 82, Sleepy Eye, died Saturday, May 3, 2003, at Meeker County Medical Center in Litchfield. Funeral services are Thursday, May 8, 2:30 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church in Sleepy Eye, with interment in Home Cemetery, Sleepy Eye. Visitation is Wednesday, 4-8 p.m. at Sturm Funeral Home and continues one hour prior to the service at the church. 
Lloyd was born May 31, 1920, in Stark Township, Brown County, the son of Otto and Emma (Sommerfeld) Friton. He grew up on the family farm and attended country school in Stark Township for a couple of years. Lloyd then attended and graduated from Sleepy Eye Public High School. After graduation, Lloyd continued to raise registered Brown Swiss cattle on the family dairy farm with his brother, Eugene. He married Dolores Peterson on April 28, 1946, in Evan and the couple made their home on the family farm where they have lived until the present time. Lloyd was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Sleepy Eye and a life member of the Brown Swiss Association. 
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Dolores Friton of Sleepy Eye; children, Grant and wife Verna Friton of Sleepy Eye, Eunice and husband Kevin De Garmo of Cannon Falls, Douglas and wife Kelly Friton of Sleepy Eye, Mark and wife Debra Friton of Chandler, Ariz., Betty and husband David Mack of Sleepy Eye and David and wife Tracy Friton of East Bethel; 17 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rodney Friton; brothers, Oscar Friton, Ellsworth "Pork" Friton, Edmond Friton and Eugene Friton; sisters, Alice and Laura; and grandson, Garry Alan.
