He attended Rangeley High School and was a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed four-wheelers, hunting and fishing. He is survived by two daughters, Sharon Searles and her husband, Leland, of Jay and Karin Gaudet and her husband, Robert, of Rumford; two sons, Ty Thompson of Oquossoc and Mike Thompson and his companion, Verna, of Tallahassee, Fla.; four grandchildren, Christina White, Brittany Belisle, Tamarah and Robert Gaudet; two sisters, Phyllis Philbrick of Rangeley and Peggy Backus of Texas; many nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Ryan and his wife, Ethna, of Rangeley; and his caring friends, Merle and Geanie Brann of Avon.
