Bessie BEEDE was born on 25 March 1884.³⁷²⁵ She died in 1961 at the age of 77 in Boardman Township, Mahoning, Ohio.³⁷²⁵ Bess had no children of her own so she enjoyed caring with much love for her animals. She raised mostly goats, chickens, and guineas, and sold goat milk and eggs. Her husband, Charlie, could always be found with a purring cat on his lap and smoking a cigarette. They often sat on their front porch steps where old fashioned hollyhocks and bleeding heart grew.

Bessie BEEDE and Charles Virgil GRANT were married on 11 July 1907 in Mahoning County, Ohio.³⁷²⁵ Charlie was a deep sea diver (the days of leaden boots and heavy metal head gear), railroad engineer and a stationary engineer. They lived at 1357 W. Harrison St., Chicago, IL and owned a yacht and lived well. They lost everything when he got into some kind of trouble there. Bess divorced Charlie after he got sent to prison. She then married and divorced a Mr. Guardillo, and then remarried Charlie on 27 Aug 1920 in Mahoning Co., OH. Charlie was living in Milwaukee, WI when he applied for a second marriage license in Mahoning Co. Bess & Charlie built a new home at 5020 West Blvd in Boardman, OH and spent the rest of their lives there. Charles Virgil GRANT was born about 1881 in Icard, Burke, North Carolina.³⁷²⁵ He died in Youngstown, Mahoning, Ohio.³⁷²⁵
