Roberta (MacKenzie) Philbrick, 92, of Manchester, beloved wife of Russell G. Philbrick Sr., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, at Manchester Manor. Roberta was born on Sept. 27, 1918, in West Bridgewater, Mass., daughter of the late Rev. Robert and Stella (Turner) MacKenzie, and had been a resident of Manchester since 1958. Prior to her retirement she was a realtor and owner/operator of the Philbrick Real Estate Agency in Manchester along with her husband for more than 50 years. Roberta was a longtime parishioner of the Trinity Covenant Church in Manchester and a member of the Connecticut Board of Realtors. In addition to her husband, Russ, she leaves behind to mourn, with loving memories, her six children, JoEllen Miller of Douglas, Ga., Terry Philbrick of Mystic, Russell G. Philbrick Jr. and his wife, Candace, of Clarkston, Mich.,Paul Philbrick and his wife, Lisa, of Vernon, Robert Philbrick and his wife,Sharon, and Raymond Philbrick and his wife, Pamela, all of Manchester; fifteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Other survivors include her brother, Malcolm MacKenzie and his wife, Barbara, of Keene, N.H.; her sister,Jeanne Nichols of Old Lyme; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Besides her parents, Roberta was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Marion MacKenzie, and her brother-in-law, James Nichols. Roberta's family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors,nurses, and staff at Manchester Manor for their kind and compassionate care over the past few years. Calling hours will be Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester. Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 2, at 10 a.m. at Trinity Covenant Church, 302 Hackmatack St., Manchester. Burial will follow in the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ECHN Community Healthcare Foundation Inc., 71 Haynes St., Manchester, CT 06040 for the benefit of the John A.
