Prescott, 80, a resident of Blue Road, Monmouth died early Saturday morning, Sept. 22, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin where he had been a patient. He was born Oct. 26, 1926 in Lewiston, the son of Ronald and Hazel (Philbrook) Prescott. He was a 1944 graduate of Monmouth Academy. Carl served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. On June 26, 1950 he married Alice Damren of Mt. Vernon. Carl worked for 47 years at Tex Tech in Monmouth as shift foreman, manager of the spinning department, and then as a purchasing agent, retiring in 1988. He was known as a good dependable worker and a "good man." He was a charter member of the Monmouth Masonic Lodge 110, the Kora Shrine, Kora Chanters, Central Maine Harmony Buoys Barber Shop Chorus. Carl enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting and, especially, camping with his family. He is survived by his wife, Alice Prescott, of Monmouth; his son, William Prescott and his wife, Colleen, of Winthrop; his daughter, Carla Prescott and her companion, Richard Gagnon, of Winthrop; two sisters, Jane Pinkham and her husband, Robert, of Monmouth, and Dianne Prescott, of Monmouth; two brothers, Phil Prescott and his wife, Ruth, of Monmouth, and Allan Prescott and his wife, Diane, of Monmouth; 10 grandchildren, Tommy, Timmy and John Beckwith, Brian and Katherine Prescott, Adam, Amy and Michelle Brunelle, and Adam and Aaron Beaulieu; and three great-grandchildren, Avery and Jared Beckwith and Marissa Parlin. He was predeceased by his daughter, Susan Beckwith; a son, Carl "Butch" Beaulieu; a brother, David Prescott; and a sister, Betty Hodsdon. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Bragdon-Finley Funeral Home, 707 Main St., Monmouth. Visiting hours will be 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 24, at the funeral home. Interment at Maine Veterans' Cemetery, Augusta. Members of the Monmouth Masonic Lodge 110 will meet at the funeral home at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
