Margaret Ann Philbrook, 81, Deer Haven Court, Florence, Ky., formerly of Somerset, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at St. Luke’s Hospital East in Fort Thomas, Ky.

A native of Emerson, Neb., she was born Nov. 26, 1924, daughter of the late George and Lillie Mapes. She was a retired nurse’s assistant and enjoyed crafts and participating in the Active Day Care.

Survivors include four daughters, Delores Holland, Bangor, Maine, Elaine Parker, Murray, Ky., Cheryl Goyette, Willimantic, Conn., and Peggy Swanson, Florence, Ky.; a sister, Joy Vugtaveen of Nebraska; 18 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Philbrook, whom she married June 20, 1948, and who died July 26, 1997; her parents; a son, Norman Philbrook Jr., who died in 2000; a daughter, Alice Georgi, who died in 1993; a brother; and tree sisters.

Funeral services will be noon, Monday, April 17, at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Randy C. Wiles officiating.

Burial will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery, Nancy.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
