Mower, 75, passed away Sept. 3, 2003, at Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield after an extended illness surrounded by his loving family. Blaine was born June 1, 1928, in St. Albans, the son of Sidney and Crystal (Philbrick) Mower. He worked as a farmer his entire life, as he and his brother, Richard, continued the legacy of their family farm, Sunnydale Farms. This brought Blaine great pride and joy. Blaine was a member of the Masons Corinthian Lodge 95 of Hartland and also a member of the St. Albans Grange. He is survived by his loving wife, Roberta Mower, whom he married June 30, 1961; daughter Shelda Madigan and husband, Joseph; sons Brent Mower and wife, Barbara, and Brian Mower and wife, Tammy, all of whom are from St. Albans; grandchildren, Amy Madigan-Dube and husband, Paul, of Hookset, N. H., Kelly Madigan-Graves and husband Ryan, Emily and Katie Mower, and Matthew and LIdsay Mower, all of St. Albans; cousin and special friends Harlow Powers and wife, Ruth, of Hartland; and also many other special friends. He was predeceased by his parents; brother Richard Mower; and an infant brother, Wendell. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, at Donald Shorey Funeral Chapel, 35 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield, ME 04967. A funeral service will be held at noon Friday, Sept. 5, at the funeral chapel with Masonic rites to be performed. Burial will immediately follow a the Crocker Cemetery in St. Albans. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Tourettes Syndrome Foundation through the funeral chapel.
