Beede, 92, resident of Manchester Road, Amherst, died June 22, 2000, at Courville Nursing Home in Manchester. He was born in Fremont, on Nov. 9, 1907, a son of the late Charles B. and Lula M. (Sanborn) Beede. He was the eighth generation to live on the family farm in Fremont. Mr. Beede had been a resident of Amherst, for the past seven years and had formerly resided in Lakewood, N. J. for seven years, Westminster, MD, for 22 years and Larchmont, N.Y., for 18 years. He graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1928 and was the only person in attendance for their 70th class reunion. Mr. Beede was employed as vice president of sales at Ward Leonard Electric, Mount Vernon, N.Y., for 30 years. He had served as Regional Director of National Electronic Manufacturer's Association. Mr. Beede had belonged to the Rotary Club in Westminster, MD, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Chicago, ILL. He served as an officer in the Coast Artillery in the early 1930s. Mr. Beede was a member of the Souhegan Congregational Church, Amherst. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth (Dodge) Beede, who died in 1998. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Alan D. and Sondra D. Beede of Amherst; three grandchildren, John D. and Kathleen Beede of Newmarket, and Susan (Beede) Carpenter of Bratislava, Slovakia; two great-grandchildren, Alexander and Ethan Carpenter, both of Bratislava, Slovakia. There are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 30, 2000 at 2 p.m. in the Souhegan Congregational Church, Route 101A, Amherst. Burial will be in the Village Cemetery, Fremont, at a later date. Memorial gifts may be made to the Souhegan Congregational Church Memorial Fund, Route 101A, Amherst, NH 03031.
