LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Violet Mae Rohrig, 75, of Long Beach, Calif., died Jan. 18, 1998, at her home.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Ord Christian Church in Ord. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery. Following the service, guests are invited to attend a reception at the home of Raymond and Joy Guggenmos.
Mrs. Rohrig was born May 29, 1922, on a sandhills farm outside of Ord to David and hazel (Philbrick) Guggenmos. She taught school in a one-room schoolhouse after graduating from Ord High before moving to Southern California in 1940.
She married Albert Rohrig. She retired in 1990 from the Forty-Niner University Bookstore at California State University at Long Beach, where she had worked since 1964.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Rick and Jim Rohrig; one sister, Lela Jones; three brothers, Bernard, Lloyd, Raymond and Darrel Guggenmos; and three grandchildren.
