Margery TOTMAN, daughter of Hiram Walter TOTMAN and Eleanora HIRST, was born on 8 May 1928 in Topsham, Sagadahoc, Maine. After her retirement from 33 years of teaching, she remained active, doing hospital volunteer service, working at various businesses in the Augusta and China areas, and being involved with the Retired Teachers Association and other community groups. She was a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Augusta.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Philbrook, and is survived by her son, Stephen Philbrook, of Augusta; daughters Martha Meyer and her husband, Bruce, of South Thomaston, and Margaret Simpson, of South China; grandchildren Hannah Simpson, of Port Clyde, Katie Drake and her husband, Douglas, of Fairfield, Brittany Philbrook, of Orono, and Kyle Philbrook, of Old Town; and two great-granddaughters, Madison and Isabelle Drake.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 10, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Augusta, with the Rev. David Matson and the Rev. Bruce Meyer officiating.
