2506. Dr. Jacob S. THRASHER Jr. was born on 24 April 1789 in Deerfield, Rockingham, New Hampshire.⁷⁹ He died on 28 August 1858 at the age of 69 in Geauga County, Ohio.⁷⁹
From the diary of Emily Pike -
August 28, 1858 - Dr. Jacob Thrasher died to day with diseased liver he has left a wife and several children to mourn as those without hope for he was a man of the world and had not chose God for his portion in this life.
29 - I went to his funeral to day Mr. Whitmore preached from Prov 8 4 unto you O men I call and my voice is to the sons of man the children feel their loss I think

From the History of Geauga County, Ohio, 1880, p. 613:
In 1834, Dr. Jacob Thrasher, from Crown Point, settled on section five, buying the claim and improvements of Orrin Lamb, another of the Lamb family before-mentioned, and on which he lived until his death, in 1858.

From the "History of Geauga Co., Ohio," pp. 337-340, 1880, "Dr. Jacob Thresher . . . was a cousin of the Websters, Daniel and Ezekiel, on the mother's side, through whom the brains must have come. He was a remarkable man, standing six feet, spare, bony, erect, well made, with a magnificent head all forward of and above the ears --a man of rare dignity of bearing, of classical education, rare intellect, keen, subtle, caustic, endowed with great wit and pitiless sarcaem."

Dr. Jacob S. THRASHER Jr. and Elizabeth Sheafe BRANSCOMB were married on 23 July 1815 in Deerfield, Rockingham, New Hampshire.⁷⁹ Elizabeth Sheafe BRANSCOMB, daughter of Elijah PERCIVILLE and Mary FRENCH, was born on 13 February 1792.⁷⁹ She died on 18 December 1869 at the age of 77 in Troy Township, Geauga, Ohio.⁷⁹
