"Chad" PHILBROOK was born on 27 June 1931 in Manchester, Hillsborough, New Hampshire.3494 He died after a ten year battle with COPD on 2 February 2005 at the age of 73 in Berlin, Washington, Vermont.3494 His obituary was published on 5 February 2005 in the Times Argus in Barre, Washington, Vermont.3494 Chadbourne W. "Chad" Philbrook Born June 27, 1931, in Manchester, N.H., he was the son of Ernest and Emily (Walker) Philbrook. He moved with his family to Barre in 1943, where he graduated from Spaulding High School in 1950. In 1952, he graduated from S.U.N.Y.'s Automotive Technology Center at Morrisville, N.Y., and from Keene State College in Keene, N.H., in 1960. In 1963, he married the former Jacqueline Pibus of Springfield. He taught school at Northfield, Springfield and South Burlington before moving to the new Spaulding High School in 1965. At Spaulding, he taught automotive technology, industrial arts, and driver education for 27 years, retiring in 1992. Chad's interests were many and varied. His main passion was restoring and driving antique cars and other antique transportation conveyances. He was a longtime member of the Model A Ford Club of America and the Vermont Automobile Enthusiasts, where he had served as assistant chief judge for the annual Stowe Car Show and as a member of the Stowe Show Planning Committee. In earlier years, Chad had been an avid skier and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and mountain climbing, snowmobiling, ATVing, gardening, woodworking and metal fabrication. Survivors include his wife; a son, Colin Philbrook, both of Washington; a daughter, Heather Jaminet Stalling, and her husband, Rob, of Barre; two grandchildren, Zachary Jaminet and Julia Jaminet, of Barre; a sister, Charlotte Philbrook, of Williston. A brother, Wallace Clark Philbrook, predeceased him. His funeral will be held on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at 1 p.m. in the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre. Later interment will take place in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Washington. Chadbourne W. Philbrook Rites WASHINGTON : A funeral service was held on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre, for Chadbourne W. "Chad" Philbrook of the Carrier Road who died Feb. 2, 2005, at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin. The Rev. Linda Piotrowski, interfaith chaplain at the Central Vermont Medical Center, officiated. She read letters of remembrance from his daughter, Heather Stalling, and son, Colin Philbrook. Son-in-law, Rob Stalling, and several members of the congregation also offered remarks. Later internment will take place in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Washington He was buried at Maple Hill Cemetery in Washington, Orange, Vermont.3494 Chadbourne W.
