"He spent his entire life (in Washington County) except for two years in California where he worked as a civilian employee for the Navy during WWII.
He had been a farmer and a dairy man until ill health forced him to give up farming.
On his return from California in 1946 he worked on county bridge construction for five years and as custodian at Washington National Bank.
As the Washington County Hospital neared completion in the fall of 1951, he became custodian there where he worked until partial retirement in 1963. He continued as relief man there through the next seven years. During this time he also worked as a part time city employee."

He was buried at Washington City Cemetery in Washington, Washington, Kansas.1697 Percy was a construction worker, custodian, and farmer/dairyman..1697 Note from Evelyn Morgan:
"Susie remembers sticking her finger in the hole in his throat where his voice box was hooked up. He had a small machine to press on his throat - a monotone sound that reflected his voice after surgery for throat cancer."
