He is listed in the DAR Patriot Index, Centennial Edition, p. 1126, as serving in the American Revolution, Patriotic Service, from New Hampshire.

Joseph GARLAND and Hannah MARSTON were married in 1758.^186,352 They resided in North Hampton following marriage. Hannah MARSTON³⁵³, daughter of Obadiah MARSTON and Elizabeth , was born on 1 September 1737.
