2746. William LORD COLBY²⁵⁸ was born on 27 April 1792 in Oswego, Oswego, New York. He died about 1844 at the age of 52 in New York. In 1833 they came from New York state to Michigan and located in
Monroe Co. Then they moved to Lowell Michigan where they purchased a
mill and village property. They finally settled east of Ypsilanti
where he kept a hotel called "The Colby House" for 4 or 5 years. This
was the first hotel located on the old indian trail (Michigan Ave.)
between Detroit and Ypsilanti. They also had an 80 acres farm in Wayne
Co. The old farm is currently part of Willow Run Airport and the
General Motors plant. William L. Colby died on his farm near
Ypsilanti, Michigan. Both are burried in Spencer Cemetery, Washtenaw
Co, Michigan. The headstones were removed long ago and replaced with
a single monument with every ones names.

William LORD COLBY and Ann UPPER were married about 1820 in Ontario, Canada. Ann UPPER²⁵⁸ was born about 1796 in New York. She died about 1874 at the age of 78 in New York.

William LORD COLBY-21827 and Ann UPPER-21849 had the following children:

5203	iv.	Walter Scott COLBY²⁵⁸ was born on 27 August 1831 in Ontario, Canada. He died about 1920 at the age of 89 in Michigan.
5204	v.	Ellinor COLBY²⁵⁸ was born about 1835 in Ontario, Canada. She died on 31 January 1899 at the age of 64 in Michigan.
