1430. William COLBY²⁵⁸ was born on 6 May 1759 in Haverhill, Essex, Massachusetts. He died on 5 August 1847 at the age of 88 in Oswego, Oswego, New York. VR to 1850, Haverhill, MA

He is the patriarch from the Colby family bible purchased by Ed Burke and info
sent to Ronald Colby.

He deposed, 20 Apr 1818, that he enlisted, November 1776, for three years, and
served under Captain James Carr, Colonel Hale's regiment in the New Hampshire
Line, and continued to serve until the winter of 1782-18, when he was attached
to a company under Captain Senter, and served until July 1783, when he was
discharged at New Windsor, New York.
In 1819, William Colby was of Grandby, Oswego County, New York. He deposed,
19 September 1820, as a farmer, of Grandby, New York, aged 60 years: that he
had received a wound in the service.

William COLBY and Eleanor LORD were married on 2 April 1782 in Massachusetts. Eleanor LORD²⁵⁸ was born on 15 July 1763 in Massachusetts. She died on 17 March 1835 at the age of 71 in Oswego, Oswego, New York.
