Evelyn (Becker) Philbrick remembered that her Aunt Martha (Philbrick) Becker was committed to an asylum after holding her newborn, Roland, out of their second story apartment window and threatening to drop him. The baby was saved. She lived a long time after being committed and died in the asylum.

Joseph Becker's niece, Evelyn Becker, married Martha Philbrick's nephew, Lowie Wilton Philbrick.
