He died on 21 February 1891 at the age of 68 in Stevens Point, Portage, Wisconsin.1186,1187 He was buried at Forrest Cemetery in Stevens Point, Portage, Wisconsin.70 His obituary was published on 28 February 1891 in the Stevens Point Journal in Stevens Point, Portage, Wisconsin.1187 Hiram Philbrick died at his home in the town of Stevens Point, on Saturday, February 21st, aged 69 years. The deceased had been in poor health for the past two years and his death was not unexpected. The funeral was held from the house on Wednesday forenoon, Rev. E. P. Rankin, pastor of the Presbyterian church of this city, officiating. His remains were interred in the cemetery on the bank of the Plover river east of this city. Hiram Philbrick was born in Syracuse, N. Y., in 1822 and therefore at his death was in his 69th year. He came west in 1852 and settled in Sheboygan county where he remained until 17 years ago. He then came to Portage county and settled on Mill creek in the town of Stevens Point where he has since resided. He has been engaged in farming since he came to this county. He has served on the town board and has also been elected Justice of the peace several times. His wife, and twelve of the thirteen children born to them, survive him, the oldest being 37 and the youngest 12. They all live in the town of Stevens Point, except George who resides at Hurley and Newton who has been working at Fenton for the past two years, both of whom were in attendance at the funeral. His remains were followed to their last resting place by a large number of his old neighbors and friends. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon [17 Mar 1907] from the South Side chapel, Rev. C.W. Curran officiating. The remains were laid to rest at the side of her husband in Plover hills cemetery. [This cemetery is now Plover Hills Subdivision on the east side of Stevens Point. The bodies were moved to Forest Cemetery about 1926.] The pallbearers were the sons of the deceased and a Nephew Loreen Eastman. [Emma and Thomas had a son Loren Eastman, which would be her grandson.] Mary Ann Tracy was nearly 76 years of age. She was born at Saratoga, NY Aug 14, 1831. She came to Wisconsin at the age of 14, and on Aug 1 1850, married Hiram Philbrick at Sheboygan Falls [Sheboygan county, WI] where they lived until 1874, coming that year to Portage county. Mrs. Philbrick was the mother of 12 children, of whom 11 are still living. They are Harry Philbrick of Mill Creek [Portage county], Mrs. Adeline Kickland of this city, Mrs. Mary Brooks of Ironwood [Gogebic county, MI], George Philbrick of Rosholt [Portage county], Mrs. Thomas Eastman of Junction City [Portage county], Gilbert of this city, Joseph of Almond [Portage county - where I live], Newton of Princeton [Green Lake county, WI], Hiram of Milbank, South Dakota [Grant county, SD], Mrs. Ida Benjamin of Oakbridge, Adams county, and Miss Martha of Whitehall [Trempealeau county, WI]. Her obituary was published on 23 March 1907 in the Stevens Point Journal in Stevens Point, Portage, Wisconsin.1191 The funeral of Mrs. Mary Philbrick, who died Thursday, March 14, at the Northern hospital at Oshkosh as the result of cancer was held from the South Side chapel Sunday afternoon, Rev. C. W. Curran officiating. The interment followed at Plover Hills. The pallbearers were Gilbert, Joseph, Newton Henry and George Philbrick, sons, and Wm. Eastman, a son-in-law. Mary A. Tracy was born at Saratoga, N. Y., on Aug. 14, 1831, and came to Wisconsin when a young girl. She was married to Hiram Philbrick at Sheboygan Falls on Aug. 1, 1852, and lived there until 1874 when they moved to Portage county. She was the mother of 12 children, eleven of whom survive. They are Henry and Gilbert of this city, Joseph of Almond, George of Rosholt, Newton of Princeton, Hiram of Millbank, S. D., Mrs. Adaline Kickland of this city, Mrs. Mary Brooks of Munising, Mich., Mrs. Emma Eastman of Eau Pleine, Martha of Whitehall, and Mrs. Ida Benjamin of Oakridge. The deceased had been in poor health for several months and was removed to the hospital last December.
