Dorothy Marilyn BEEDE was born on 3 March 1931 in Boardman Township, Mahoning, Ohio.3729 She died from complications of a stroke on 3 June 2011 at the age of 80 at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, Mahoning, Ohio.3728 Her obituary was published on 4 June 2011 in the Morning Journal News in Lisbon, Columbiana, Ohio.3728 YOUNGSTOWN – Dorothy Marilyn Berry, 80, of Park Vista Retirement Village, passed away at 2:01 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown, Ohio from complications of a stroke. Mrs. Berry, the daughter of C. Paul and Ruth (Weaver) Beede, was born on March 3, 1931, in Youngstown, Ohio. Dorothy enjoyed roller skating up into her 70s. She attended Youngstown State University and studied fine arts. She enjoyed painting, quilting, camping, and playing her organ. She enjoyed tracing her genealogy and traced hers back to the mid 1700’s. She was a member of the Mahoning County Genealogical Society, the Youngstown Club of French River, Ontario Canada, and of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She had been an accounting clerk for Kraft Foods, and was the secretary for the North Lima United Methodist Church in past years. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, James Marion Berry Jr., whom she married April 6, 1951, in San Diego. James died May 6, 1990. Two brothers, Edwin Beede and William “Billy” Beede, along with one great-grandchild, also precede her in death. She is survived by two sons, Wayne Berry of Hubbard, Ohio and Scott Berry of Rio Rancho, N.M.; daughter Susan Black of Youngstown; and sister, Virginia Williams of Boardman, Ohio. Six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive. Services will be held Monday, June 6, 2011, at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home, North Lima, Ohio at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Dorothy Marilyn BEEDE and James Marion BERRY Jr. were married on 6 April 1951 in San Diego, San Diego, California.3874 James Marion BERRY Jr. was born on 8 November 1927 in Lisbon, Columbiana, Ohio.3874 He died on 6 May 1990 at the age of 62 in Boardman Township, Mahoning, Ohio.3874 He died at the home of his mother-in-law Ruth Beede. Buried in Columbiana Village Cemetery. Jim served time in the Merchant Marine and in the United States Navy. He studied carpentry at the New Castle Traqde School and built the family home on Jane St. in Beaver twp, Mahoning Co., OH. He then earned his high pressure license for Stationary Engineer for the State of Ohio. In 1985, he took early disability retirement after 20 years with General Motors in Lordstown, OH. The house was sold in 1988 and a new mobile home in a Columbiana Park became the retirement getaway. Jim loved to read, research his family history, camp and fish and rollerskate.
