Robert Patrick Harrington, 85, of Lincoln, Neb. and Estes Park, died at home in Lincoln on November 20,2010. He was born March 17, 1925 in Laurel, NE to James and Grace Harrington.

Bob was inducted into the Army Air Corps following high school graduation and later served in the Infantry under Gen. George Patton, participating in the Battle of the Bulge and the liberation of prisoners in Germany and Poland. After his discharge, Bob enrolled at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and warned BA and MA degrees in education and educational administration.

Bob was a devoted educator and taught and coached in Pierce and Lexington, NE and at Lincoln High in Lincoln. He

Robert Patrick Harrington ( Courtesy Photo )spent several years as an administrator at Central Community College in Hastings, NE and at Oklahoma City Community College. After his retirement he loved on South Padre Island, Texas and later in Estes Park and Apache Junction, AZ as well as Lincoln.
Survivors include his wife of eight years, Phyllis Conway Harrington, daughters and spouses; Patricia and Andy Nudelman of Papillion, NE, Peggy and Dennis Croxen of Highlands Ranch, CO, Hollis and Russ Maloney of Princeton, KY, and Judy and Jeff Holsapple of Shawnee, Kansas; stepdaughters Denise Witherby and Kay Juilfs of Lincoln; six grandchildren and one great granddaughter; sisters Dorothy Kennedy of Bend, Oregon and Betty Dovel of Olympia, Wash, brother Rodney of Laurel, NE, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Lenora Kittrell, two brothers, Lawrence and Douglas and grandson Jeremiah J. Webb.

There was cremation and a celebration of Bob`s life will be held in Estes Park next summer.
