5872. George Harvey PHILBRICK1973 was born on 19 August 1875 in Ottawa, Franklin, Kansas. On the farm. He died on 14 June 1963 at the age of 87 in Oakes, Dickey, North Dakota. He was buried in Monango, Dickey, North Dakota. He moved at some point to Monango, North Dakota. There he operated a grain elevator on the railroad line through town. He also served on the school board. After retirement they moved in 1950 to the Seattle area where their daughter and family lived. His wife Lottie died in Washington 31 March 1952, and shortly afterward he returned to North Dakota. He lived with his oldest son Lloyd and his wife Margie at Oakes,ND. He died at their home. He and his wife are buried in the cemetery at Monango,ND, as are several relatives of his wife's family.

George Harvey PHILBRICK and Charlotte CARTLEDGE were married on 22 August 1907 in Monango, Dickey, North Dakota. Charlotte CARTLEDGE1974 was born on 13 March 1885 in Pine Bluff, Dane, Wisconsin. She died on 31 March 1952 at the age of 67 in Fort Steilacoom, Pierce, Washington. She was buried in Monango, Dickey, North Dakota. Nickname:Lottie.

Ray Lewis PHILBRICK1975 was born on 29 March 1921 in Monango, Dickey, North Dakota. He died on 12 February 1928 at the age of 6 in Monango, Dickey, North Dakota. He was buried in Monango, Dickey, North Dakota. When Ray was 6 years old he went to the grain elevator where his father worked. His dad wasn't done with work yet so he climbed the stairs up the elevator trying to catch one of the pigeons. He fell down the stairs. He was badly hurt. He lingered five days and died. Source: Gladys Philbrick NISEN, his sister. The summer after Ray died, his brother, Bones, and his mother planted a lilac shoot from the bush in their yard by his grave in the cemetery. In 1991 that lilac bush has overgrown the headstone. Uncle Bones commented,"And to think I lugged gallon buckets of water for that bush so it wouldn't die!"
