15182. Joseph Oliver , Jr. GRANDCHAMP1127 was born on 23 May 1924 in Portland, Cumberland, Maine.3619 He died on 17 March 1954 at the age of 29 in North Conway, Carroll, New Hampshire. He was buried at Conway Village Cemetery in Conway, Carroll, New Hampshire. Quote from Shirley Mae Smith on 10/1/95 at grave site: "I was 20 years old, I remember we were all crying and Jeannie said to picture him in his fishing hat, he loved to fish, with all those hooks all over it.......Grammie Mayhew was 16 when she had Jeanne, Uncle Ollie was 3 at the time."

He died of Addison's Disease, a failure of the adrenalin gland usually caused by tuberculosis (TB) or a fungal infection or as a result of an auto-immune problem whereby the body attacks its own adrenalin gland as if it were a foreign body. Shirley Pierce remembers that he suffered loss of appetite (a typical symptom) and was living on only milk toward the end of his life. It is supposed that he was diagnosed too late to treat him.

Joseph Oliver , Jr. GRANDCHAMP and Minnie E. BOWERS were married on 5 September 1942. Minnie E. BOWERS1127 was born on 28 March 1924. She died on 2 April 1993 at the age of 69 in Groveton, Coos, New Hampshire. Minnie (Bowers) Grandchamp is buried in the Conway Cemetery in the South
West End with her husband (Joseph) Oliver Grandchamp. Also buried at the gravesite
is Joseph Oliver Grandchamp, Sr. and wife Abigail Louise (Eastman)
Grandchamp.
