In 1862 he enlisted in the 24th Wisconsin Volunteers. Caroline E. MANNING^132,1399, daughter of Cephas MANNING, was born on 31 August 1832 in Littleton, Middlesex, Massachusetts.²⁰¹⁷ She died on 6 February 1910 at the age of 77 in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts.²⁰¹⁷
