PHILBRICK, son of Thomas Harris PHILBRICK and Olive Rand LOCKE, was born on 28 June 1858 in Rye, Rockingham, New Hampshire.906 He died on 17 January 1932 at the age of 73.906 He was buried at Rye Central Cemetery in Rye, Rockingham, New Hampshire. In his early days Herbert was a carpenter, and later worked for the old Portsmouth Shoe Company. For 22 years, he was employed as motorman on the Portsmouth Electric Railway asd during the entire period with the street railway, he was never involved in a single accident. Following retirement, he returned to his former trade, carpentry. He was a member of the Fire Dept. and was an active member of the Portsmouth Gun Club. He was affiliated with Damon Lodge, No. 9, Knights of Pythias, ans Massasoit Tribe, No. 16, I. O. R. M. This information was provided by Herbert Philbrick, grandson.
