Charles Edward PHILBROOK⁹⁹⁵ was born on 8 May 1841 in Bath, Sagadahoc, Maine.⁷⁰ He was ordained in 1874, preacher, by the United Brethren, and in 1881 was at Ellensburg, Curry Co., Oregon, and Aug. 17, 1884, was installed pastor of the new Congregational Church of Sierra Valley, Cal., preaching at 5 different stations, in a section of farming land near 30 miles long by 10 miles wide.
