Sophia Anna SMITH and William Madison WEIR were married on 19 April 1870 in Merom, Sullivan Co., Indiana. William Madison WEIR was born on 9 August 1843 in Merom, Sullivan Co., Indiana. He died on 24 June 1929 at the age of 85 in Dinuba, Tulare, California. According to family legend, William Madison was one of eleven children of James WEIR and Salina McKEE. Stories indicate that James was born in Scotland and lived a short period in Ireland before coming to the US as a young boy. The Family Bible dates their marriage on 6 Sep 1827, probably in Tennessee. He is buried in a cemetery near Merom, Indiana. The tombstone lists his birth as 22 Jan 1797 and death as 28 Jan 1872.

10853	iii.	Guy WEIR was born on 18 January 1877 in Merom, Sullivan Co., Indiana. He died on 21 March 1923 at the age of 46 in Garden City, Finney, Kansas.
